Wilma Lumbers on, But the Worst Marine Conditions Not Yet Over For Grand Cayman
 At 4:00 PM today (Thursday, 20 October) Wilma was some 286 miles west of Grand Cayman, increasing the distance between the island and the outer bands of tropical storm force winds, which now extend some 200 miles from the centre. But Wilma's large circulation means that strong, gusty conditions will continue to be felt well after its departure from our area. Published 20th October 2005, 5:46pm

CUC Outages Continue in Eastern Districts
 Electrical service to the Eastern Districts (from the junction of Frank Sound) will not be restored until approximately 2:00 pm today as CUC discovered extreme cases of salt contamination on some of the power lines serving those areas. CUC Line crews have completed the repairs to the transmission line, which sustained damages during the passing of Hurricane Wilma. Published 20th October 2005, 3:43pm

Cayman Outside the Tropical Storm-Force Band - But the Worst Marine Conditions are Not Yet Over
 At 10:00 AM Thursday (20 October) Wilma was some 276 miles west south-west of Grand Cayman, just outside the band of tropical storm force winds which now extend some 260 miles from the centre. So while conditions will continue to improve, especially along the east and south coasts, Grand Cayman will continue to see very rough seas along the western coast line. Squally weather is also expected to continue, with two to three inches of rain expected over the next 24 to 48 hours. Published 20th October 2005, 12:20pm

CUC Emergency Outages
 As a result of damages sustained to a transmission line at CUC's South Sound Substation during the passing of Hurricane Wilma, it became necessary to suspend service to the Eastern Districts this morning at 9:32 am and to parts of George Town at 10:45 am to facilitate repairs of the transmission line. Wilma Leaves Grand Cayman with Severe Weather
 At 4 pm (Wednesday, 19 October) Grand Cayman remains under a Severe Weather Advisory issued by the National Weather Service, with continued squally weather accompanied by gusts expected to continue through tonight and into tomorrow afternoon. As a result of this continued severe weather, the Ministry of Education has announced that all government and private schools on Grand Cayman will remain closed tomorrow (Thursday, 20 October). Category 5 Wilma Spares Cayman
 At 4:00am, (Wednesday 19 October) Hurricane Wilma was located some 170 miles south-southwest of Grand Cayman. Overnight the system strengthened to a Category 5 hurricane but its current path continues to spare the Cayman Islands, where winds are now just below tropical storm force. Movement continues in a west-northwesterly direction near 8mph. The NHC continues to maintain its Tropical Storm Warning and Hurricane Watch. Published 19th October 2005, 6:31am
