Published 17th July, 7:00am

The public is hereby informed that the curfew pursuant to section 29A of the Police Law (1995) Revision as amended, and pursuant to the written permission of His Excellency the Governor on 16 July 2005, to take effect on Grand Cayman at 11:00 pm, 16 July 2005, is discontinued as of 9:00 am on Sunday, 17 July 2005.

The public should continue to take safety precautions with the weather, particularly on the coastline. The police will continue to patrol in numbers.

Five persons were arrested for breach of curfew and drug offences.

"I want to thank the public for their indulgence and their assistance to the police by calling in and reporting suspicious activity during the period of the curfew. It was with the public's cooperation and assistance that we were able to achieve such success in maintaining law and order during this vulnerable time," said Acting Police Commissioner Rudolph Dixon.
