Emily Retreats from Our Area

Key Message:
With the 7am advisory from the National Hurricane Centre in Miami placing Hurricane Emily 115 miles southwest of Grand Cayman, and about 305 miles east-southeast of Cozumel, Mexico.
This is expected to continue over the next few hours, with the intensity gradually subsiding into dawn, as Emily gradually retreats from our area.
Meanwhile, Emily is expected to continue its west-northwest track, with the centre expected to reach the Yucatan Peninsula very late today (Sunday) or early Monday.
NHC advice to local population: Residents should continue to remain indoors. The NHC will notify the public when the "All Clear" is given, signaling that it is safe to venture out doors.
Residents are reminded that a curfew is in place until further notice and should continue to monitor closely news reports on local conditions.
