CUC Emergency Outages

As a result of damages sustained to a transmission line at CUC's South Sound Substation during the passing of Hurricane Wilma, it became necessary to suspend service to the Eastern Districts this morning at 9:32 am and to parts of George Town at 10:45 am to facilitate repairs of the transmission line.

Duration:

CUC does not expect this outage to extend beyond 12:30 pm but will update the media if the need should arise to extend the duration of the outage.

Areas affected include:

Walkers Road, from Memorial Avenue extending south to the junction in South Sound.

South Church Street and South Sound Road, from Sunset House to the junction in Red Bay.

All of Smith Road, Crewe Road and Shamrock Road, including Prospect.

The Eastern Districts: Bodden Town, North Side and East End
