CUC Outages Continue in Eastern Districts

CUC ADVISES THAT EAST END AND NORTH SIDE WILL EXPERIENCE LONGER THAN ANTICIPATED OUTAGE TODAY DUE TO SALT CONTAMINATION ON POWER LINES/EQUIPMENT
Electrical service to the Eastern Districts (from the junction of Frank Sound) will not be restored until approximately 2:00 pm today as CUC discovered extreme cases of salt contamination on some of the power lines serving those areas. CUC Line crews have completed the repairs to the transmission line, which sustained damages during the passing of Hurricane Wilma. Service was restored shortly after 1:00 pm to customers in the affected areas of George Town and all areas eastwards, up to the Frank Sound junction.
Service to the Eastern Districts was interrupted at 9:32 am and to George Town at 10:45 am. CUC intends to restore service to customers in North Side and East End by 2:00 pm.
CUC thanks customers for the patience and understanding as its crews work in the districts to carry out repairs and restore service.
