Brac Youth Keep Busy , Friday, 21 November, 2008

Cayman Brac youths are now winding down with Eight Days of Light - a special programme designed to pay attention to their needs during the Paloma recovery period.

In a collaborative effort involving the National Youth Commission, Cayman Brac’s Community Development Officer, and the Ritz-Carlton Grand Cayman, 40-plus youngsters aged 6-19 attended the first day. However, by mid-week the numbers had almost doubled.

Led by a team of ten, members of the Ambassadors of the Environment by Jean-Michel Cousteau programme, the programme is part of the international "Ritz-Carlton Community Footprints" initiative.

Indoor and outdoor activities include art, games, hikes and nature lessons - and participants even got to enjoy food prepared Ritz-Carlton chefs!

Eight Days of Light ends on Monday, 24 November. Agencies interested in organizing similar activities for Cayman Brac and Little Cayman youth, can call Annie Rose Scott at 916-7310 or NYC Chairman Jenny Manderson at 916-3120.
