Sister Islands Mail Resumes
Published 25th November, 4:51pm
The Cayman Islands Postal Service will be resuming mail operations to the Sister Islands tomorrow Wednesday, 26 November.
As a result of damage to postal facilities caused by Hurricane Paloma, Stake Bay Post Office at the District Administration Offices will be the only fully operational postal facility on Cayman Brac. Opening hours will be from 9am to 12 (noon) Monday to Friday.
However, in the interim, Acting Postmaster General Anthony Williams is pleased to announce that customers will still have 24-hour access to their mail. West End and Spot Bay Post Offices customers will have 24-hour access to their mail at their respective post offices. Creek and Watering Place Post Offices customers can access their mail at West End Post Office. Creek and Watering Place customers should go to Stake Bay to collect their temporary key for a West End Post Office box that will give them round-the-clock access to their mail.
General Delivery customers will have access to their mail at Stake Bay Post Office only. All parcels, small packages and mail overflow will have to be collected at Stake Bay Post Office also.
Little Cayman Post Office is already opened and is fully operational. Hours of operation will be 10a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday to Friday.
Postal facilities will reopen once the buildings have passed inspection.
Customers who need others to clear their mail
Customers who require another person to collect their General Delivery mail or packages should write a letter to the Postmaster General authorising a particular person to collect mail on their behalf. The letter needs to include a copy of the renter's identification, with a signature.
