Hurricane IDA
The National Hurricane Centre in Miami, Florida is issuing advisories on Hurricane IDA, which at 10 a.m. was located near 13.1 N 83.7 W or 75 miles north of Bluefields, and about 65 miles south-southwest of Puerto Cabezas, Nicaragua. IDA has maximum sustained winds near 75 mph and is moving towards the northwest at 6 mph.
A turn toward the north-northwest is expected later today… followed by a turn towards the north by Friday night. Ida is inland over east-central Nicaragua. On the forecast track...Ida should move across eastern Nicaragua and eastern Honduras over the next couple of days.
THIS SYSTEM POSES NO IMMEDIATE THREAT TO THE CAYMAN ISLANDS.THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE WILL CONTINUE TO MONITOR ITS PROGRESS.
