Tropical Storm Richard 10 a.m Advisory

The National Hurricane Center in Miami Florida is issuing advisories on Tropical Storm Richard, which at 10 a.m. was located near 15.8 N 81.1 W or about 241 miles south of Grand Cayman, 284 miles southwest of Cayman Brac. Richard is currently moving west at 3 mph with maximum sustained winds near 40 mph.
This system poses no immediate threat to the Cayman Islands; however, all interests within the Cayman Islands should continue to monitor the progress of this storm.
The Cayman area can expect continued cloudy skies with periods of widely scattered showers today and tonight, cloudy rainy weather tomorrow. Some showers will be locally heavy. Additionally moderate southeast winds are expected to continue today and tonight, fresh east-northeast winds and rough seas tomorrow. Swells are expected to affect the south and east coast of the Cayman Islands, especially this morning and evening.
The CINWS will continue to monitor the progress of this storm. All interests within the Cayman Islands should continue to monitor the local media for the latest information on this system.
