Special Bulletin - Tropical Storm Richard - 23rd October 2010, 4:00 a.m.

The National Hurricane Center in Miami Florida is issuing advisories on Tropical Storm Richard, which at 4 a.m. was located near 15.8 N 83.2 W or about 269 miles southwest of Grand Cayman. Richard is currently moving west at 8 mph with max sustained winds near 45 mph.

This system poses no immediate threat to the Cayman Islands; however, all interest within the Cayman Islands should continue to monitor the progress of this storm.

The Cayman area can expect continued cloudy skies with widely scattered showers today. Some showers will be locally heavy. Additionally moderate to fresh east-southeast winds and rough seas are expected today. Swells are expected to affect the south and east coast of the Cayman Islands today.

The CINWS will continue to monitor the progress of this storm. All interest within the Cayman Islands should continue to monitor the local media for the latest information on this system.
