Hurricane Tomas Update

The National Hurricane Center in Miami, Florida has issued advisories on Hurricane Tomas, which at 4 a.m. was located near 14.0 N 62.9 W or about 130 miles W of St. Lucia or 370 miles SE of Puerto Rico. Tomas is currently moving towards the west-northwest near 8 mph with max sustained winds near 100 mph.
This storm poses no immediate threat to the Cayman Islands; however, all interests within the Cayman Islands should continue to monitor the progress of this storm as current forecast track places hurricane Tomas to the S of Haiti and ESE of Jamaica by Thursday night.
The CINWS will continue to monitor the progress of this storm.
