Tropical Storm Tomas Update

At 4 p.m. the National Hurricane Center in Miami Florida issued an advisory for Tropical Storm Tomas, which was located near 13.4 N 69.7 W or about 65 miles NNE of Aruba. Tomas is currently moving towards the west near 12 mph with maximum sustained winds near 45 mph.

THIS STORM POSES NO IMMEDIATE THREAT TO THE CAYMAN ISLANDS.

However, all interests within the Cayman Islands should continue to monitor the progress of this storm as the current forecast track continues to place Tomas over the south coast of Haiti and E of Jamaica Friday morning.
