Tropical Storm Tomas

At 4 a.m. the National Hurricane Center in Miami Florida issued an advisory on Tropical Storm Tomas, which was located near 13.5 N 72.0 W or about 355 miles south Port au Prince Haiti or 445 miles southeast of Kingston Jamaica. Tomas is currently moving towards the west near 12 mph with maximum sustained winds near 50 mph.
THIS STORM POSES NO IMMEDIATE THREAT TO THE CAYMAN ISLANDS.
However, all interests within the Cayman Islands should continue to monitor the progress of this storm as the current forecast track continues to place Tomas southeast of Jamaica as a Hurricane Friday morning.
